Street Vendors in Cawang UKI will Be Controlled after Asia-Africa Summit

Just a week after controlled, the street vendors (PKL) are back to trade again at Cawang UKI area in Kebon Pala Urban Village, Makasar, East Jakarta.

Because Jakarta will become the Asia-Africa host, we will hold the frontal controlling after the summit

The hundreds street vendors are selling various goods, such as food, beverage, clothes, fruits, and VCD/DVD around highway park or across UKI university and under interchange highway.

"Their existence makes the area look chaotic and disturb the citizen's activity. Moreover, they also cause congestion," expressed Sarkim (50), a Kebon Pala citizen, Wednesday (4/15).

Makasar Sub-District Head, Ary Sonjaya mentioned the controlling activity that held last week is aimed to clean Cawang UKI area from street vendor's activity in welcoming the Asia-Africa Summit. Moreover, the guest of the summit will pass across the area after they arrived at Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport.

Sonjaya assessed, his side will conduct frontal controlling to eradicate street vendor from the area.

"Because Jakarta will become the Asia-Africa host, we will hold the frontal controlling after the summit," told Sonjaya.
