City Provides 15,000 Kiosks for Street Vendors

To facilitate street vendors (PKL) in the capital, PD Pasar Jaya with Jakarta Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives Agency (KUMKMP) will provide a total of 15,000 empty kiosks in guidance market to be used by PKL.

Head PR of PD Pasar Jaya, Agus Lamun admitted to own 15,000 empty kiosks that spread around 153 traditional markets. All of the empty kiosks will be provided for the illegal PKL who still don't have the trading place. "Yes, we still have the empty kiosks and it possible to be used by them," he said at City Hall, Monday (1/26).

Although Lamun still yet detailed about the kiosks location, he admitted the PKL will be placed near from their previous trading place. "The locations surely near from PKL trading place," he added.

Meanwhile, Head of KUMKMP Department, Joko Kundaryo admitted his side has got explanation from PD Pasar Jaya related to the PKL relocation to the 153 traditional markets. Later, the PKL will be recorded by five municipalities KUMKMP sub-dept., and they will be relocated to the empty kiosks.

"I have sent the information to Head of KUMKMP sub-dept. at municipalities to send info to PD Pasar Jaya and help to relocate the PKL," he continued.

Joko uttered, the PKL who will get the kiosk must have Jakarta ID card (KTP). "Department head has sent letter to there about the location that near to the empty kiosks, Later, the PKL will also get special treatment," he uttered.
