113 Thousand of Non-Jakarta Residents Manage Document Transfers According to Domicile

As of Thursday (25/4), it was recorded that 113 thousand residents who were caught up in the Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Service (Dukcapil) deactivation program had moved their domicile according to their de facto place of residence.

They have independently moved their domicile, because they are aware

Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Service Agency Head, Budi Awaludin, those 113 thousand residents come from Depok, Tangerang, South Tangerang, and Bekasi. There are 75 thousand NIK in South Tangerang and 18 thousand NIK in Depok.

Central Jakarta Residents Access Population Document Arrangement Services

"They have independently moved their domicile, because they are aware of the orderly population administration. We really appreciate them," he said.

Budi added that the activities of structuring and controlling population documents according to domicile which are being carried out by his party will be carried out in stages. The first stage of control will deactivate around 40 thousand NIK residents who are thought to have died.

The second stage of control targets the NIK of residents whose RT status has been removed but is still recorded in their residence domicile. The total amount reaches around 9,600 NIK.

Budi admitted that not all residents were concerned about the process of arranging and controlling population documents according to their domicile that was being carried out by his party. Usually, residents only realize that their NIK has been deactivated when they want to take care of matters related to population documents such as BPJS.

His side has given information through jawara-dukcapil.dki.go.id, as well as maximizing social media facility and SMS blast.

Budi ensured that the process of reactivating the NIK of residents who entered the deactivation program could be carried out at any time in accordance with applicable regulations. He appealed to residents to check their status on the jawara-dukcapil.dki.go.id site and carry out screening at the post in the sub-district or the nearest Dukcapil counter.

"Our concern is related to managing population mobility, this is what needs to be regulated. Because our social spending burden is already at 30 percent of the APBD," he stated.
