Industry Ministry Appreciates City's Efforts to Empower Local Products

The Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts to empower domestic products through routine Business Matching Batch activities have received appreciation from the P3DN Upgrade Center Head, Heru Kustanto.

According to him, the implementation of Business Matching, which is routinely held every year, as well as the Proudly Made in Indonesia Movement (Gernas BBI) initiated by the Jakarta Government, had pushed the use of domestic products while reducing the use of imported products in procuring government goods/services.

"The commitment of all government agencies and business entities to purchase domestic products will greatly determine the fate of the national industrial sector," he expressed, Monday (5/13).

He asserted that optimizing spending on domestic products would provide a multiplier effect and multiple value added for the industrial sector, thus it would accelerate the program for deepening, spreading and equalizing the industrial sector which in turn would strengthen the performance of the manufacturing sector to continuously grow proudly.

He asserted the government keeps conducting innovation and acceleration steps to support the purchase of domestic products in the procurement of goods and services. One of them is digitizing Domestic Component Level (TKDN) certification which is fast, accurate, transparent and can be completed in just 22 working days.

"We're also drafting regulations related to the provisions, procedures for issuing and facilitation processes for TKDN certification to strengthen accountability of the certification process," he concluded.

He also expressed his appreciation for the consistency and hard work of all regional officials under the Jakarta Government, who continue to take innovative and accelerated steps to support the absorption of domestic products.

"Using domestic products means contributing to building a good industrial climate and supporting the independence of domestic industry," he asserted.

Jakarta PPKUKM Agency Secretary, Ety Syartika explained her party would again hold Business Matching to Push the Use of Domestic Products at City Hall, from May 13 to 16, 2024.

The activity, participated by 18 industrial company exhibitors is part of their efforts to open up opportunities for Indonesian products to be successful in their own country.

"P3DN in Jakarta has been implemented since 2017 and continues to this day," she explained.

Especially, Jakarta is still the main contributor to economic growth in Indonesia, even though Jakarta's position as the country's capital will change soon.

"We highly appreciate the ranks of regional officials and Jakarta BUMD who have realized PDN spending during 2023, thus Jakarta again received an award as the best PDN user province," sh e stated.
