Channel on Jalan Angin Sejuk II Being Normalized

PPSU personnel from the Cilincing Sub-district Water Resources (SDA), North Jakarta are normalizing the water channel on Jalan Sejuk II, RT 10/11, Semper Barat Urban Village.

Hopefully, it will be completed quickly and will function optimally

Cilincing Sub-district SDA Executing Unit's Field Coordinator, Nandi Yantoro said channel normalization was carried out along 150 meters.

"It is done because the sheet pile is damaged and the width of the channel is small, this often leads to flooding," he expressed, Wednesday (5/15).

He explained the channel normalization was carried out by increasing the capacity of the channel to a height of 100 centimeters and a width of 60 centimeters.

"This is conducted to follow up on residents' aspirations through Musrenbang 2024," he explained.

He explained it has been ongoing since April 2024 by sending six personnel to the location.

"The work progress has touched 35 percent so far. If there are no obstacles, we are targeting the work to be completed by the end of June," he explained.

One of the residents from RW 11, Semper Barat Urban Village, Tama (54) admitted narrowing or small channels often trigger flooding when heavy rain occurs over a long period of time in the area.

"Hopefully, it will be completed quickly and will function optimally, thus there will be no more flooding," he hoped.
