Jakarta Social Agency Head, Premi Lasari, said people with disabilities have political rights, one of which is providing equal rights and opportunities to participate politically in elections. The efforts made in accordance with Law Number 8 of 2016 Article 13 and in accordance with Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2022 Article 5.
"Jakarta Social Agency cooperated with Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) has implemented strengthening election outreach targeting organizations of people with disabilities related to fulfilling their voting rights," she said, Thursday (5/16).
Mentoring assistance is also provided by officers to assisted residents in social institutions owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government. Not only that, adjustments to facilities and infrastructure have also been made to support the activities of people with disabilities in the implementation of the 2024 elections.
She hopes that people with disabilities can participate in using their political rights optimally with these efforts.
