Utilities Disturb Channel Crossing Construction in East Jakarta

The water channel crossing construction on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Duren Sawit and on Jalan Raya Bogor, Ciracas, East Jakarta are disturbed by many utility networks. The work which was targeted to complete Monday (5/27), should be extended up to next Thursday (5/30).

Heavy equipment are unable to assist the work

East Jakarta Water Resource's Development Section Head, Tengku Saugi Zikri, stated the work must be run manually since there too many utility networks. It surely slows down the activity.

"Heavy equipment are unable to assist the work since it can damage the utility networks," he said, Tuesday (5/28).

There are utility networks on Jalan Raya Bogor in form of electricity cable owned by PT, pipeline owned by PT PAM Jaya, and pipeline owned by PT Gas.

Saugi added, the utility networks are planted up to 1.5 meter underground. In fact, the box culvert size is also 1.5 meter in size.

Similar condition is also happened on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai. Mostly the pipelines are owned by PAM Jaya, PT PLN, Telkom, and gas pipeline.

"We extend the work up to next Thursday," he added.

Meanwhile, Icuk Manggala, channel crossing implementer on Jalan Raya Bogor, explained two pipelines owned by PAM Jaya were leaking due to hit by drill bit.

"The leaking has been handled by technician from PT PAM Jaya. In fact, this case spent more time," he explained.

His side will continue to concrete the upper layer of box culvert while getting solution to place another two box culvert for not disturbing the utility.
