Disaster Handling Learning Given to West Jakarta Administration Apparatuses

West Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Agency (BPBD) held education and simulation of disaster handling at public facility and building. The program was participated by 30 apparatuses of West Jakarta Administration, Monday (6/3).

West Jakarta BPBD Taskforce Head, Vitus, said the participants came from civil servants, security guard, cleaning service, and technician.

"This activity is in the context of increasing disaster management capacity so that it is effective by utilizing existing facilities in the West Jakarta Mayor's Office building," he said.

Vitus added BPBD personnel provided information to the participants about disaster management, basic life support, earthquake materials, introduction to rescue equipment and so on.

"With the knowledge provided, it is hoped that the participants will also be able to pass it on to their colleagues at work and in the community," he added.

Solihin (46), West Jakarta Mayor Office's security guard, appreciated the program because it provided knowledge when a disaster occurs so that he knows what to do. Starting from helping victims, rescuing and so on.

"This program is useful for us," he admitted.
