It was stated strictly by Jakarta City Council Commission A Vice, since mostly fire case in residential caused by short circuit electricity.
Commission A Expects Public Participation to Handle Increased FiresInggard indicated that many fires were triggered by short circuits due to electrical connections not complying with regulations or electricity theft. Such activities, emphasized Inggard, apart from being detrimental to the state, also endanger other residents in their settlements.
Technically, Inggard appealed taskforce and volunteer of fire handling to cooperate with urban village, Satpol PP, Babinsa, and Babinkamtibmas to join with PLN conducting sweeping of illegal electricity connection.
"This must be disciplined and there are sanctions. Don't let electricity be stolen and endanger other residents," he stated.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Head Satriadi Gunawan appreciated and supported recommendation from Commission A. He promised will respond the recommendation soon.
"Soon we will direct the task force in the sub-district to coordinate with related officials, to control electrical connections that do not comply with regulations," he said.
