39,000 Qurban Animals Undergo Health Examination

The Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security Agency (KPKP) has examined around 39,000 qurban animals' health from 534 shelters spread across five city areas.

Officers in five sub-agencies have examined around 534 shelters

Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati said her agency would continue to hold health checks on qurban animals in hundreds of shelters.

"From May 1 to June 10, 2024, officers in five sub-agencies have examined around 534 shelters," she expressed, Tuesday (6/11).

Dharma Jaya Guarantees Qurban Animals Supply Safe

Of the hundreds of animal shelters, around 39,000 qurban animals had undergone health examinations.

"We ensure that this data continues to increase considering that over the last five years, Jakarta has needed around 61 thousand qurban animals consisting of cows, buffalo, goats, and sheep," he explained.

He added most of the tens of thousands of qurban animals entering Jakarta came from Central Java, East Java, and Lampung.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is over. We require qurban animals entering Jakarta to have a health certificate from the area of ​​origin and we carry out double checks," he added.

Aside that, his party was synergizing with the Indonesian Veterinary Association and the community as well as several universities such as IPB and Airlangga University which deployed personnel to carry out outreach during the slaughter of qurban animals in five city areas on Idul Adha 1445 Hijri until the third day.

"We also urge Jakarta residents to buy qurban animals at shelters that already have stickers from the Jakarta KPKP Agency," he stated.
