City Displays Artworks Created by SLB Students in JakartaHe hoped that it could encourage fine artists to produce works of art that could beautify the atmosphere of the city of Jakarta.
"Hopefully, it can continue to encourage artists to produce works of art that can beautify the city of Jakarta, as well as depict Jakarta as a global city with millions of charms," he expressed.
At the same time, Jakarta Culture Agency Head, Iwan Henry Wardhana uttered the 'Jakarta Provoke!' art exhibition was clear evidence of the Jakarta Government's concern for arts and cultural activities in the City of Jakarta. It also introduced a cultural heritage building, namely the post office building from colonial times which is now called Pos Bloc to the public.
"We want to introduce two things at once. First, introducing art and culture, especially fine art created by Jakarta artists. Second, introducing the public to cultural heritage buildings which can be used as spaces for expression for artists and visual artists," he explained.
He hoped that it could encourage artists to be creative and give birth to ideas for new works of art, thus they could enliven the atmosphere of Jakarta. He also hoped that it could exhibit more art galleries that give space for the public to enjoy the works of art from artists.
Exhibition Organizing Committee Chairman and Artist, Revoluta, added this exhibition will take place from June 14 to 23, 2024. For the first day, the public can enter the exhibition for free. Then, on the second to last day of the exhibition, the public is charged an entrance ticket by Rp 50,000 per person. Art lovers can also buy the works of art presented in the exhibition.
"This art exhibition talks about the city of Jakarta. We want Jakarta's artists to be able to host their own city, to mingle and socialize, and to have their voices heard in their own city through their works of art," he closed.
