Beritajakarta Receives Award at ASEAN+ Youth Environmental Action 2024

Beritajakarta, the official website of the Jakarta Provincial Government, received an award at the ASEAN+Youth Environmental Action (AYEA) 2024 at the Graha Mahardhika Bujana Auditorium, Budi Luhur University (UBL), Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, Friday (6/28) evening.

The award was handed over directly by Budi Luhur Sakti Foundation Chairman, Kasih Hanggoro, to Robi Cahyadi, PIC of Beritajakarta Partnership and Promotion. Similar awards were also given to some other online and electronic media.
AYEA 2024 was held by the UBL International Student Association (Himahi) as part of a commitment to involve youth in efforts to protect the environment and mitigate climate change. It was held for four days, from June 27 to 30.

UBL International Relations Student Association Chair, Brigita Nofensa Tomigolung stated that giving awards to Beritajakarta and other mass media was a policy brief, containing conclusions about a series of activities and conclusions about diversity from the perspective of various participants who took part in AYEA 2024 activities.
"It is also successful thanks to support from the Budi Luhur Sakti Foundation and the mass media," he expressed.
According to him, AYEA 2024 raised a huge level of concern in society.
"This is part of the commitment to involve youth in efforts to protect the environment and mitigate climate change," he explained.
He added it was designed with a variety of interesting activities, such as focus group discussions (FGD) and plenary, exhibition stands. Then there was a competition for students from early childhood education (PAUD), elementary and high school, and the general public.
The competitions performed started from coloring competitions, photography competitions participated by 302 photographers, and debate competitions involving high school/vocational school students in Indonesia. Prizes given included trophies, certificates, and scholarship money for students who will study at Budi Luhur University.
Budi Luhur University Rector, Agus Setyo Budi added AYEA 2024 was held to provide an example and educate the public. It was real action from the academic side to prevent the impact of environmental damage. Thus, he hoped that the community would help preserve the environment.
"The peak of this activity is the planting of 6,000 trees in Baduy Luar, Banten, as a form of nature conservation. The tree types are adapted to the natural surroundings, namely the pete tree species," he explained.
According to him, climate change could cause even greater harm if it is not anticipated. Thereby, the young generation who are the holders of the future must act and behave, inviting people to care about the sustainability of the environmental ecosystem.
Budi Luhur Sakti Foundation Chair, Kasih Hanggoro explained AYEA 2024 encouraged students from 29 countries to take part in environmental care activities. Hopefully, it could become a routine agenda of the campus.
"Indonesia must be able to pioneer environmental preservation and Budi Luhur is expected to be a part of it. Because we have a motto, make the earth prosperous, so the people will be prosperous," he asserted.
Beritajakarta Partnership and Promotion PIC, Robi Cahyadi expressed his thanks and appreciation to Budi Luhur University for giving this award.
He also appreciated the AYEA 2024 activities which were deemed very beneficial for environmental sustainability. He assessed the current environmental issues and climate change are global concerns, thus there must be real synergy with youth from various countries.
"We'll keep supporting positive activities to create a conducive climate, the environment remains well maintained, without any further damage," he stressed.
