Residents living in Tanah Tinggi Urban Village, Johar Baru Sub-district, Central Jakarta, enthusiastically bought cheap market initiated by the Jakarta Provincial Government in synergy with PT KAI, Monday (7/1) morning.

There were about 1,000 packages of staple food offered, starting from 5 kg rice, 2-liter cooking oil, 1 kg flour, and 1 kg sugar. All of them were sold at Rp 100,000 per package. Including other food needs, such as beef, chicken meat, instant noddle, and chicken eggs at affordable prices.
A resident from RT 07/09, Tanah Tinggi Urban Village, Hani Nurhasana (60), expressed her gratitude to the Jakarta Provincial Government that held cheap staple food for residents.

"Hopefully, the variety of basic necessities sold will be added in the future," he hoped.
Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Agency (KPKP) Head, Suharini Eliawati explained the sale of cheap staple food was held for residents to get quality food needs at affordable prices. It was also to maintain stability in food supply and prices, as well as control regional food inflation.
"We keep synergizing and optimizing the role of BUMD food to provide and distribute food of good quality," she explained.
She added the Jakarta Government was synergizing with PT KAI to hold a cheap staple food market for Tanah Tinggi residents.
"Residents can also buy chicken, beef, instant noodles and eggs at prices below market prices," she said.
