Jakarta Provincial Government held cheap staple food market, Wednesday (4/3), at Nagrak Flat, Cilincing, North Jakarta. The program was held to stabilize stock and price of commodities ahead of Lebaran. There were 2,000 packages prepared.

Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, visited the program accompanied by Jakarta Regional Secretary's Economy and Financial Assistant, Sri Haryati; Jakarta Regional Secretary's Development and Environment Assistant, Afan Adriyansyah Idris; North Jakarta Mayor, Ali Maulana Hakim, Regional Owned Enterprise's Trustee Head, Nasruddin Djoko Sujono, Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati; Jakarta Regional Cooperation Bureau Head, Marulina Dewi; Perumda Dharma Jaya Director, Raditya Endra Budiman; Perumda Pasar Jaya Director, Agus Himawan, and Bank Indonesia representative.
"We want to ease residents' access staple food with cheaper price. I hope this program will give benefit for flat's residents," Heru said, as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.
Cheap Bazaar Held at West Jakarta Mayor OfficeResidents were able to buy staple food package by Rp 100,000 for 1 kilogram of frozen beef, 5kg of premium rice, 1 kg of sugar, and 1 kg of flour. There were also other commodities such as egg, chicken, onion, chili, cooking oil, rice, and so on.
"It is hoped the program will stabilize inflation rate in Jakarta," Heru added.
One of flats' resident, Asep Suwenda, appreciated Jakarta Provincial Government for providing the program. It was useful for him in fulfilling daily needs.
"Thanks to Jakarta Provincial Government for providing the program. Commodities price is escalating ahead of Lebaran. This cheap market is useful for us," he stated.
