The Jakarta Arts Council (DKJ) is about to hold a public discussion activity with the theme "Jakarta Sound Rhapsody: From Concert to Counseling - Revealing the Veil of Music as a Means of Therapy and Health" at Wahyu Sihombing Theatre, Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) today, Friday (7/ 5). Activities are planned to take place from 7 PM to 9 PM.

DKJ Music Committee, Iman Putra Fattah disclosed music has long been recognized as a universal language with therapeutic power. Recent scientific research strengthens the evidence that music can significantly benefit physical and mental health.

"The rhythm and melody of music have been proven to stimulate the production of endorphins, which reduce pain and improve mood. Additionally, music can also help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression," he expressed, Friday (7/5).

He went on to say that music therapy has been proven effective in a variety of medical conditions, including neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, developmental disorders such as autism, and psychological conditions such as trauma and addiction.

Music can also be used to improve sleep quality, reduce labor pain, and speed up the post-operative recovery process. Therefore, this discussion will discuss and explore the benefits of music for health.

He would present some expert speakers and practitioners who are experienced in their fields, such as practicing music therapist Kezia Karnila Putri, musician and music psychology researcher Lestika Madina Hasibuan, and music producer and arranger Ammir Gita.
