Illegal CCTV Poles in Mampang Prapatan Removed

Joint officers from various elements controlled an antenna pole and illegal Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) equipment standing on the Jalan Gatot Subroto Flyover, Kuningan Barat, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta.

The pole tilted during the rain and strong winds yesterday

Mampang Prapatan Sub-district Head, Ujang Hermawan said the operation was done to prevent accidents or bad impacts if the antenna collapsed.

"The pole tilted during the rain and strong winds yesterday and was prone to falling and could injure people passing under it. That's why we put it in order immediately," he expressed, Tuesday (7/9).

He explained it was done based on public complaints. Before starting the control, his party had coordinated with related parties regarding the whereabouts of the antenna poles and CCTV equipment.

As a result, related units such as the Bina Marga Sub-agency, South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency, and communications service providers did not acknowledge the existence of antennas and CCTV devices at the location.

"We're also inviting South Jakarta UP-PTSP to control the poles. The poles are also not recorded. It is suspected that the poles were installed at night some time ago," he added.

The action above received appreciation from one of the road users, Rahmat (48).

"Thanks for the officers' alertness in removing the tilted pole. Now residents passing by are safe," he stated.
