56 Children Celebrate Literacy Mother Roadshow at Gondangdia RPTRA

Some 56 children participated in the Central Jakarta Literacy Mother Roadshow at Gondangdia RPTRA, Jalan Cik Ditiro, RT 01/02, Gondangdia Urban Village, Menteng. Monday (7/22).

Literature has an important role in shaping a child's character and personality

Besides containing education about the importance of literary education in the digital era, it also includes a poetry reading competition by children aged 4 to 5 elementary school from 10 schools in Menteng Sub-district, as well as a coloring competition participated by 46 PAUD students.

Central Jakarta Literacy Mother, Ucu Jamilah said it is an effort to instill a love of literature from an early age, as well as welcoming National Children's Day, which is celebrated every July 23.

"Literature has an important role in shaping a child's character and personality. Literature helps children develop imagination, creativity, and language skills," she expressed.

She hoped that the competition held could be a place for children to express themselves and express their creativity through works of art and literature.

She also invited all parties, especially PAUD Mothers and Literacy Mothers, to keep working together in instilling a love of literature in children.

"Let's make literature a part of everyday life and make this digital era an opportunity to improve literacy culture in Indonesia," she uttered.

Central Jakarta Library and Archives Sub-agency Head, Irwan Septinadi explained it is a positive forum for developing children's courage and personality to become a superior generation.

"It is from literature that vocabulary will become richer and empathy will be sharpened. It becomes more meaningful because of literacy," he stated.
