Orphans and Dai in Seribu Islands Receive Compensation

The Seribu Islands Baznas Bazis distributed compensation to 331 orphans and 30 Dai which is part of the Muharram Festival for the Islamic New Year 1446 Hijri.

It is intensified in six urban villages

Seribu Islands Baznas Bazis Coordinator Acting Chief, Lukman said the compensation distribution is a concrete manifestation of the responsibility of the Seribu Islands Regency administration together with Baznas Bazis.

"It is intensified in six urban villages," he expressed, Monday (8/5).

He explained the nominal compensation given to orphans was Rp 500,000 per person and Dai was Rp 1 million each.

"Hopefully, it can help fulfill basic needs such as food, clothing, education, and shelter, thus their quality of life improves," he explained.

Thus far, the Seribu Islands Baznas Bazis has been active in collecting zakat, infaq, and alms from all elements of society. Then the funds collected were immediately distributed back to the needy.

"Hopefully, it can help reduce their economic burden and meet their daily needs," he hoped.

He expressed his gratitude to Muzaki (zakat prayer) who had entrusted his ZIS through Baznas Bazis.

"Hope we can also do the same thing to many people in need," he added.

The compensation received appreciation from one of the Kelapa Island residents, Aminah (21).

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), this is very helpful. I used this donation to buy school supplies and some for my grandmother," she stated.
