Around 150,000 labors will stage a massive demonstration in the capital in order to celebrate May Day on Friday (5/1) tomorrow. To anticipate traffic congestion, the road closure will be applied on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman.

“Predictably, the mass concentration would happen at Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin. Hence, we will sterilize them from vehicle,” said Sub-Directorate Head of Traffic Engineering for City Police, AKBP Warsinem, Thursday (4/30).

According to AKBP Warsinem, from both roads, the demonstrator would then move to HI Roundabout. “Road closure will be applied at 6 AM-1 PM,” he uttered.

Even so, he furthered, such traffic engineering is situational or depending on condition in the field. “The demonstrator vehicles were warned not to park along Jalan Sudirman-Jalan MH Thamrin," he stressed.
