150 Thousands of Labors Go to State Palace

Almost 150 thousands of labors from Jabodetabek consisting of KSPI, KSPSI, SBTPI and the other labor unions will enter Jakarta

As many as 150 thousands of labors from Jabodetabek will hold demonstration when International Labor's Day or May Day on Friday tomorrow (5/1). Those labors will gather on Hotel Indonesia Roundabout and long march to State Palace. 

President of Confederation of Indonesian Workers' Union(KSPI), Said Iqbal stated, those labors will gather on HI Roundabout start from 10 AM. Afterwards, they will long march to the Palace. "Almost 150 thousands of labors from Jabodetabek consisting of KSPI, KSPSI, SBTPI and the other labor unions will enter Jakarta," told Said, Thursday (4/30).

At least there will be 7 demands read when the demonstration take place. The demands are reject low salary, where there are some points inside such as rejecting 5 years salary and changing standard cost of living (KHL) to be 84 items. Second demand is run labor's pension insurance in July 2015 with pension benefits is 60 percent of the last salary. 

Labors also requested the government to increase budget of health insurance by Rp 30 trillion from State Budget(APBN), delete outsourcing especially in BUMN, reject the increasing of subsidized fuel, elpiji, and electricity in accordance to market price, and decrease grocery price. 

After reading the demands in Palace, as many as 50 thousands labors will stay in Palace, while the rest going forward to Gelora Bung Karno. As the peak of event will be held in the location with May Day Fiesta event. "We're going forward to GBK and attended by the head of world's workers union," he uttered. 

Besides in Jakarta,  labor's massive action will be held in 30 provinces and 250 cities/regencies. For great scale action will be held in Surabaya, Jawa Timur, Batam, dan Riau Islands.
