800 Satpol PP Dispatched to Guard May Day

As much as 800 personnel of Jakarta Satpol PP have been deployed to guard the strategic locations during May Day. It aims to minimize the destruction of the city facilities and infrastructures.

It is learning from the previous May Day celebrations. At that time, post-May Day, there were damage green lanes and parks in some protocol roads due to being trampled by mass labors. Moreover, piles of trash spread littering the road.

"We're assigned by our boss to minimize the destruction of the facilities and infrastructures in the city. And also supervise some points which are used by street vedors to open their stalls," said Head of Operational Section for Central Jakarta Satpol PP, Sijabat, Friday (5/1).

Thousands of Labors Ready to Cast Their Aspiration on May Day

Those Satpol PP personnel are dispatched around Gelora Bung Karno, HI Roundabout, Monas and Presidential Palace. Besides that, there is one cycling team consists 12 personnel to manage traffic hampering street vendors, from HI Roundabout-Presidential Palace. 

"We want the traffic to be sterilized from street vendors, so the labor's access will not be hampered when orating," he disclosed.
