50 Junior High School Students Participate Tourism Destination Introduction Program

As many as 50 students from two junior high schools in Central Jakarta, Thursday (8/15), participated familiarization trip held by Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency.

Similar program will be held again in November

Central Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency Head, Wiwik Satriani, said the program is held to celebrate 79th Indonesian Independence Day and National Children Day, as well as acknowledging students to Jakarta historical tourism sites.

Tourism Technical Coaching Participated by 100 Residents

"The aim is to invite them to become more familiar with history through tourist destinations in Central Jakarta," she said.

Wiwik added that those students came from SMPN 39 and SMPN 93 Jakarta. The participants were taken to Perumusan Naskah Teks Proklamasi Museum, Gedung Joang 45, Tugu Proklamasi and Monumen Nasional.

"It is held from morning to afternoon," she added.

Wiwik hopes that this activity will build their pride in Central Jakarta which has a long history in the independence process. Then, they are also expected to be able to upload this visit to their social media and socialize the destination to the surrounding environment.

"Similar program will be held again in November. We choose activities based on themes according to historical moments," she continued.

One of participants, Rafika Prangdini, admitted happy to be selected as participants. She hopes the program will be held again for other students.

"It's really exciting to learn about independence history," she admitted.
