Malaysian Tourists Enjoy Leisure Tourism, Transportation and Culinary in Jakarta

The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) and the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) Kuala Lumpur held a Familiarization Trip (Famtrip) from July 31 to August 2, 2024.
It is held with the aim of encouraging increased visits by Malaysian tourists to Indonesia
It was attended by dozens of participants consisting of Key Opinion Leaders (KOL), journalists and the Tourism Industry (tour operators/travel agents) from Malaysia.
Jakarta Disparekraf Head, Andhika Permata said this Famtrip is the result of cooperation and synergy between the Jakarta Disparekraf and the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur to promote Jakarta's leisure, transportation and culinary tourism destinations.

Hopefully, it would contribute to visits by foreign tourists from Malaysia to Jakarta, as well as networking lunches between representatives of travel agents (TA)/tour operators (TO) from Jakarta and Malaysia that could contribute to creating a travel pattern for Jakarta tourist destinations for the Malaysian market.
In this Famtrip, participants were invited to explore leisure tourism, namely Monas, Kota Tua, Ancol, Pulau Seribu, and Pantai Indah Kapuk.
"Further, they were also invited to enjoy transportation tours by taking public transportation, namely LRT and MRT, as well as culinary tours, namely Nasi Goreng Kebon Sirih, RM Padang Pagi Sore, and Jamu Selamatki," he explained.
Marketing and Attractions Section Head, Sherly Yuliana explained her party together with the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur invited Famtrip participants consisting of KOL (beauty content creator and travel vlogger), TA/TO (Prima One Holiday Tours, Laksana Sutera Travel) and Media (I Love Borneo, I Love Kuching, Kosmo and Stail MY).
"We invite KOLs, Tourism Industry and Media from Malaysia to promote Jakarta tourism because this Famtrip is an effective way to promote Jakarta's superior destination, namely Seribu Islands," she added.
She added Disparekraf is helping the central government (Kemenparekraf) program, namely focusing on a quality and sustainable tourism sector to achieve the target of 9.5-14.3 million foreign tourists in 2024.
"Malaysia itself is in the Top 10 number two (as of 2023) for inbound tourists to Jakarta, so it is expected to have an impact on economic growth (Regional Income) and open employment opportunities in the tourism sector," he stated.
