659 PPKS in South Jakarta Netted during Operation Bina Tertib Praja

As many as 659 people with social issues (PPKS) were netted by Satpol PP along with Jakarta Social Agency (Dinsos) during the Operation Bina Tertib Praja.

Until August 9, our men have managed to catch 659 PPKS

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin said that all this time, the operation has been ongoing since August 1 to 31, 2024.

"Until August 9, our men have managed to catch 659 PPKS," he expressed, in his writtrn statement, Friday (8/16).

Satpol PP: 32 PPKS in Kramat Jati Netted until August 8

According to him, the PPKS socialization was conducted to maintain public order, as well as, socialization and data collection.

"As well as coaching for people who need social welfare assistance to receive humane treatment from the Jakarta Provincial Government," he explained.

According to him, the Operation Bina Tertib Praja aims to humanize a group of residents, thus they do not depend on earning a living at intersections or roads with busy traffic.

"Besides breaking the rules, they also endanger the safety of themselves and road users. Together we will keep the city of Jakarta more peaceful and orderly for residents," he added.

He explained the hundreds of PPKS who had been reached by August 9 consisted of 401 illegal parking attendants, 113 hawkers, 66 buskers, 52 homeless people, 25 scavengers, nine ODGJs (mental health disorders), eight cart people, eight clowns, eight punks, four ondel-ondels (giant Betawi effigies), and one silver man.

Central Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Tumbur Parluhutan Purba added the 10 offenders who were caught had undergone a tipiring trial with fines and were placed in the South Jakarta Taruna Jaya 2 Youth Development Social Home for 20 days.

"Hopefully, the fine sanctions applied will raise awareness among the public to follow the rules orderly and take an active role in maintaining environmental peace," he stated.
