Open-Topped Double Decker Bus Offers New Atmosphere of Independence in Jakarta

Transjakarta is participating in celebrating Indonesia's sporting achievements. Indonesian athletes were transported by using open-top double decker buses operated by Transjakarta during the recent Olympic celebration.

The bus is operated everyday in certain routes

The buses used are double-decker which are currently designed with the faces of 2024 Paris Olympic athletes. The collaboration was held by Ministry of Youth and Sports with full support from Jakarta Provincial Government.

PT Transjakarta Public Relation and CSR Department Head, Ayu Wardhani, said this open-top double decker buses were also used during big event. Indonesian football team and Persija Jakarta football club also used this buses in 2023.

"A Korean group band also used this bus to travel around Jakarta," Ayu said, Friday (8/16).

Ayu added that this bus is not only for big events, but public can also use the bus for free. The only thing to do is tap the card to enjoy traveling around Jakarta for free.

"The bus is operated everyday in certain routes. The information about the bus can be accessed via Transjakarta social media," she added.

The capacity of the bus is 60 people. Passengers are able to enjoy the scenery of Jakarta from the top of the bus.

Tour guide is also prepared on the bus to accompany passengers. The bus is operated from 10 AM to 5 PM with Monas Explorer main routes around Monas from Gambir Station.
