Transjakarta Prepares Additional Buses to Anticipate Motor-Taxi Demonstration

PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) prepares several anticipation steps related to online motor-taxi and courier demonstration around Jabodetabek.

We still have a 10 percent reserve fleet.

PT Transjakarta Operational and Safety Director, Daud Joseph, said some prepared anticipatory steps are, accelerating the bus arrival time (headway) to minimize the accumulation of customers at the bus stop. In addition, Transjakarta also prepares a backup bus fleet if needed.

"We still have a 10 percent reserve fleet. Usually we use it for maintenance and repairs, maintenance in the workshop. We'll deploy them if the condition is like this," he said, Thursday (8/29).

With the 10 percent reserve, he added, it is hoped that the emptiness related to transportation services can be handled well. In addition, Transjakarta will also postpone the implementation of SPLIT or bus not operating after the morning rush hour.

Joseph continued, Transjakarta is always ready to provide services to the public in any condition, especially if other providers do not serve passengers, of course it is Transjakarta's responsibility to provide more than usual.

"We will send the buses home (SPLIT) during off-peak hours at 09.00 - 16.00 WIB. But if the demonstration takes place during those hours, we will definitely send the buses," he stated.
