It is conducted based on six categories
North Jakarta Tamhut Sub-agency's Green Belt Section Head, Priharto Budi Susilo said the handling was conducted to anticipate fallen trees or broken branches, especially during heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.
"It is conducted based on six categories, namely, light, medium, heavy, felled, splintered, and prone to falling," he expressed, Friday (9/6).
Five Trees in Cengkareng Pruned to Respond Resident's RequestHe explained the handling was conducted based on the results of monitoring and reports from residents by directly observing the condition of the trees, whether they were dead, rotten, or too dense.
"For Jakarta residents who see trees in their home or on the road that are overgrown or at risk of falling, they can immediately report it via JakLapor feature on JAKI application or to the nearest personnel," he explained.
Of 5,825 trees handled, 386 were pruned at light level, 4,037 were pruned at medium level, 1,039 were pruned at heavy level, and 199 were cut down. The same action was also done when the trees fell, 13 trees were recorded as being broken and 152 trees were uprooted.
"For the handling of these trees, we deployed personnel in six sub-districts and teams from sub-agency or city level. They are completed with supporting equipment and operational service vehicles," he expressed.
It was done to maintain trees located on green roads, environments, parks, and so on, thus they remain well-maintained and neatly arranged. Including maintaining the safety and comfort of the community," he explained.
"This is also accompanied by tree planting because the existence of trees is also important for greening and minimizing air pollution in Jakarta," he explained.
The action above received appreciation from a resident from Koja, Lutfiana (29).
"Thus, the environment is always well maintained, looks bright, neat and well maintained. The follow-up from the Jakarta Provincial Government itself has been very good. I once reported about a dense tree near the house, the next day the officers immediately came to the location to handle it," he stated.
