PT JIP Supports Acceleration of SJUT Program

PT Jakarta Infrastruktur Propertindo (JIP), continues to show its commitment to support the Jakarta Bina Marga Agency in arranging permanent overhead cables at various points in South Jakarta. This support is part of the acceleration of the Integrated Utility Network Facility (SJUT) program in Jakarta.

PT JIP Corporate Secretary, Aji Rizqi Yodhana stated his party actively assisted the Jakarta Public Works Agency to gradually cut aerial cables in several locations every month.

"Besides orderliness, the fiber optic cable waste from cutting is also managed integratedly ," he expressed, Friday (9/6).

He explained PT JIP uses technology such as GPS, door sensors, cameras, and artificial intelligence-based monitoring systems that allow monitoring of the transportation and waste management process to be conducted remotely.

"By this system, cable waste can be ensured to arrive at the processing location and be processed according to existing SOPs," he explained.

He added the management of fiber optic cable waste, which is included in the category of Hazardous and Toxic Materials (B3), is conducted in accordance with applicable regulations, including Law Number 32/2009 on Environmental Protection and Management, as well as Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number 6/2021 on Procedures and Requirements for B3 Waste Management.

PT JIP is committed that all waste management processes follow strict standards in accordance with applicable regulations in Indonesia. In its implementation, PT JIP collaborates with partners who have been certified with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2015 in Environmental Management System and ISO 45001:2018 in Safety Management System.

"The waste management process begins with transportation, where the transport vehicle has been registered by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and is completed with CCTV that can be monitored in real time, then through the weighing, collection, sorting, to the destruction stage using special technology," he explained.

He explained the weighed fiber optic cables were moved to the cutting area. This process is conducted using a special cutting machine (shedder) to separate the cable material to be processed further.

Then he final stage of management is the incineration process of fiber optic cables. The cut cables are burned in an incinerator designed to handle B3 waste, until they produce ash.

"The ash from the burning is then packed and sent to be stored in a landfill in a condition that no longer contains B3. This process is also monitored to ensure that the emissions produced meet environmental standards," he explained.

He hoped that the integration of underground utility networks could create a more aesthetic, modern, and safe urban layout for Jakarta.

"We're also certainly committed to maintaining fiber optic cable waste management in accordance with applicable standards, in line with the vision of Jakarta as a Global City and digital transformation," he closed.
