South Jakarta PPKD Head, Budi Karlia Setiyanto, said Open Kedai is a means for culinary vocational training participants to apply the training materials they have learned.

"This activity is to provide real experience for training participants," he said, Friday (9/6).

Training participants must be able to cook, serve visitors, serve orders, and do crumbing down or a term in the culinary world referring to the process of cleaning up leftover food from the table after guests have finished eating.

There are five menu packages served in Open Kedai. Each menu consists of main dishes, drinks, and desserts. Budi added that in addition to serving dine-in visitors, participants must also be able to serve take away orders.

"Open Kedai gives practice skills before they get job," he stated.
