Fire Burns Kiosk in Petukangan Selatan

Firefighters from South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) managed to extinguish the fire that burned down a kiosk on Jalan Manunggal, RT 13/02, Petukangan Selatan Urban Village, Pesanggrahan Sub-district.

South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency Head, Syamsul Huda said the fire occurred at 4.10 AM.

"We then immediately sent 45 firefighters and 13 fire engines to the scene," he expressed, Wednesday (9/11).

Electricity Short Circuit Sparks Fire at Post Bloc

He explained the fire was allegedly triggered by an electrical short circuit in a perfume kiosk. Shortly after, the fire spread to three other kiosks that housed Levis alterations, laundry, and hairdressing businesses.

"After struggling for 40 minutes, personnel put out the flames and continued the cooling process. At 5.13 AM, we declared the entire extinguishing process complete," he explained.

South Jakarta BPBD Pleton Commander, M Nur uttered the fire burned down a building measuring 75 square meters.

"There is one family card with six fire survivors. No fatalities in this fire incident," he closed.
