Electricity Short Circuit Sparks Fire at Post Bloc

An electrical short circuit in a coffee shop was suspected to be the trigger for the fire at Pos Bloc, Jalan Pos, Pasar Baru Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (9/10) at around 12.43 AM.
No casualties or fatalities in the incident
Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) Head, Asril Rizal said his personnel received a fire report from a resident who came to the Fire Station at Pasar Baru.
"We immediately deploy 14 fire engines and 56 firefighters to handle the fire," he expressed.

"We have managed to control the fire for more than 30 minutes and entered the cooling process at 01.33 AM," he explained.
Fire and Rescue Section Head, Ahmad Syaiful explained the fire incident was known by security officers who saw the flames from the FND area at Pos Bloc.
Then they attempted to provide an early response using portable fire extinguishers (APAR) and contacted firefighters. However, the fire continued to grow until it burned the Al Abror Mosque, which is located right next to the Gedung Pos Bloc building.
"No casualties or fatalities in the incident. The burned area reached about 1,000 square meters," he concluded.
