"For the time being, they can't return to their homes, they have been given three months to occupy the flats for free. They have three months to return to their original places," he explained.
According to him, there are two housing concepts in Pasar Rumput Flats, where the flats are integrated with the market area, such as the lower area is for the market, while the upper area is for residential units.
"This flat was built by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, but managed by the Jakarta Government. So, there are two housing concepts, rental flats and commercial flats. Rental flats are intended for low-income residents. Now, the commercial one is in process through a utilization cooperation agreement from the local government," he added.
He asserted the Jakarta Government has made communication with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) regarding the continuation of the fate of residents affected by the fire who previously occupied PT KAI land in Manggarai. One of the points emphasized by the Jakarta Government was related to land use.
