Jakarta Collects Gold from Bodybuilding

Jakarta contingent continues to add to its collection of gold medals at PON XXI Aceh - North Sumatra 2024. This time, the Bodybuilding sport successfully secured two golds in the match held on Wednesday (9/11).

Two gold medals for the Jakarta contingent were won by Slamet Junaidi and Sahri.

Slamet Junaidi who competed in the 60-kg class managed to win a gold medal after successfully defeating athletes from Banten and the host, North Sumatra. While, Sahri who competed in the 70-kg class managed to end the resistance of athletes from East Java and North Sumatra.

Gold to Jakarta, Chandra Proves Promise to His Parents

Jakarta KONI Supervisory Board Chairman, Prasetyi Edi Marsudi was grateful for the two gold medals won by Jakarta Bodybuilding athletes.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), two gold medals were won from the Bodybuilding Branch, namely Slamet Junaidi and Sahri who have fought hard. I had the opportunity to put the gold medals around the neck of the gold-winning athletes and congratulate them on this success," he expressed, after the medal ceremony at Four Point Hotel, Medan.

He also hoped that the gold medals won by the contingent would be a motivation for other athletes who will still fight in the 21st PON XXI.

"Thank you for fighting. To all people, please pray and support Jakarta's athletes to achieve as many achievements and medals as possible and make Jakarta's name famous on the national stage," he closed.
