He performed brilliantly by defeating his opponent from West Java with a score of 15-8 and secured the first gold for the Jakarta fencing sport at PON XXI. This victory was also a special moment for him, who won his first gold.
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), this is my first time to win gold, thank you to my parents, all officials, and friends. For friends who are still competing, hopefully, there are still opportunities and keep up the spirit," he expressed, after he celebrated his victory at Anggar GOR, Harapan Bangsa Stadium Complex, Banda Aceh, Friday (9/13).
Jakarta Kurash Team Delivers Three Gold Medals at PON XXIHe admitted he did not expect to win by such a high score considering that in the previous meeting, he lost narrowly with a score of 14-15.
"I didn't expect to win by a significant score, because previously we also met him with a score of 14-15. And now I can win by a large margin. Very relieved and happy," he explained.
He hoped that his success could be an inspiration and motivation for fellow athletes from Jakarta who are still struggling in various sports.
"For fellow Jakarta athletes in other sports who are still competing and want to compete, hope you will stay enthusiastic. Maybe it can be a motivation for all of you. Hopefully, Jakarta can be the overall champion," he exclaimed.
Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency Head, Andri Yansyah admitted he was happy with the achievements achieved by Aditya Rizki Pramudita.
According to him, his performance also sparked the fighting spirit of all athletes from the Jakarta contingent to keep trying to achieve the highest achievements at PON XXI Aceh - North Sumatra 2024.
"Jakarta is increasingly optimistic about pursuing the target of becoming the overall champion in this biggest sporting event in Indonesia," he said after congratulating Aditya via video call.
