Jakarta contingent won its first gold medal in the light weight double sculls (LM2X) rowing event at PON XXI Aceh - North Sumatra 2024.

The gold was won by the pair Andryan Pardomuan S and Johanes Franxisco who managed to defeat West Java and Riau. This rowing competition took place at the Keuliling Dam, Aceh Besar.
Andryan and Johanes managed to finish first with a time of 6 minutes 46.785 seconds, slightly ahead of the pair Rafiq Wijdan Yasir and Muhammad Habil Yasin from West Java who finished with a time of 6 minutes 46.943 seconds.

In the final match, Jakarta managed to place its athletes in 11 different categories, providing an opportunity to increase its gold medal collection.
In total, there are 11 gold medals up for grabs on Thursday morning to afternoon at Keuliling Dam, Aceh Besar Regency. Of that number, seven gold medals are up for grabs in the Final A rowing event, while four other gold medals will be up for grabs in the Final A canoe slalom event scheduled for 2 PM to 4:30 PM at the same location.
The achievement above received appreciation from Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency Head, Andri Yansyah.
"This is a very good start for the Jakarta contingent. Hopefully, they can continue to add to our gold medal tally," he uttered.
He was optimistic about Jakarta's chances of winning more gold and catching up with East Java in the standings.
"There are still quite a lot of matches left, Jakarta has great potential to win more gold. Strong motivation and mentality are the keys for Jakarta athletes to keep fighting for the best results at PON XXI Aceh - North Sumatra 2024," he uttered.
