North Jakarta People Invited to Intensify the Anti-Mosquito Campaign

Local people living in North Jakarta are invited to intensively hold an anti-mosquito campaign (PSN). Through healthy life style, it is hoped able to minimize the mosquito larvae as the main factor of dengue fever.

The larvae busters or locally known as Jumantik in each RW must control the water reservoirs in their region, because it is prone to become an aedes aegypti breeding

"In April 2015, as many as 240 dengue cases happened in North Jakarta. They are 73 cases in Kelapa Gading and 25 cases in Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village," said Deputy Mayor of North Jakarta, Wahyu Haryadi, Saturday (5/9).

Haryadi also invited the ranks of sub-district and urban village to socialize the PSN implementation that held routinely every Sunday. By so, it could motivate locals to hold the campaign routinely, starting in their home.

Anti-Mosquito Campaign Intensified in Kemayoran

"The larvae busters or locally known as Jumantik in each RW must control the water reservoirs in their region, because it is prone to become an aedes aegypti breeding," he uttered.

Meanwhile, Head of Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village's Community Health Center (puskesmas) for Kelapa Gading Sub-District, Candani expressed her side continues try to combat the aedes aegypti breeding routinely through such campaign.

"During transition season, we have to stay alert by monitoring the mosquito larvae. Besides jumantik, we also need public participation to optimize its realization," she asserted.
