BBPOM - Paspampres Cooperate in Food Security Guard for Presidential Inauguration

The Jakarta Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BBPOM) in synergy with the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) has conducted food security during the inauguration of President and Vice President for 2024-2029 period. The food security activity took place for two days from August 20 to 21, 2024.

Jakarta BBPOM Head, Sofiyani Chandrawati Anwar said his party had sent a team to escort food at four locations, namely the Indonesia Hotel, St Regis Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel, and Fairmont Hotel, which are places to stay and provide food for the VVIP state guests who attended the invitation to the inauguration of President and Vice President.

"Food safety monitoring is taken by conducting rapid test methods on dishes for state guests including Malaysia, Japan, Turkey, Serbia, Arabia, Jordan, Philippines, Germany, England, New Zealand, Laos, and others," he expressed, Wednesday (10/23).

He explained the parameters tested include organoleptic and hazardous material contamination tests. Organoleptic ensures the smell, taste, and color of the food are in good and normal condition. While the contamination test ensures that nitrite, arsenic and cyanide do not exceed the specified level requirements.

"Formaldehyde, borax, metanil yellow and rhodamin B were also tested to avoid these contaminants being contained in the dishes served," he explained.

Paspampres Denkes, Serda Pandu Azis added the cooperation between BBPOM in Jakarta was to protect delegates from unsafe food during the inauguration event.

"With this massive coordination, food security monitoring can run well. State guests are protected from food that is harmful to health and the inauguration of President and Vice President for 2024-2029 period was successful and smooth," he stated.
