W. Jakarta Gulkarmat Provides Hydrant in Kemanggisan

West Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency Head, Putut Jantoko, said the hydrant construction at RW 03 is run along 755 meters to cross RT 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16. The hydrant construction is part of 2024 program worth Rp 2.7 billion.

"We construct hydrants in densely populated and residential areas, prone to fire, inaccessible to fire engines and where water sources are difficult to find," he said, Wednesday (10/23).

He added the construction has been ruuning since last month and is targeted to complete November 2024 by involving private party. According to him, there are 13 hydrant boxes with each hydrant hose reaching 30 meters in length and a water tank capacity of 14 cubic meters.

"The firefighter volunteer or residents are able to use the hydrant for early fire handling," he added.

Head of RW 03 Kemanggisan Urban Village, Pramuji, appreciated the hydrant construction in his area.

"We appreciate the hydrant construction since local people need it much " he admitted.
