Revitalization, Block A Market Peddlers will Be Relocated to Sambas Park

PD Jaya Market starts to revitalize some traditional markets which are in bad condition in an effort to compete with the modern market. 

Those peddlers will be relocated soon in the temporary shelter, Sambas Park. Nevertheless, they will back to their old market after the revitalization is done

One of the markets that will be revitalized is Block A Market located at Jalan RS Fatmawati Raya, Kelurahan Pulo, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The market which was inaugurated since 1971 considered has been unworthy as trading place. 

Assistant of Development and Environment for South Jakarta Administration, Tri Wahyuningsih stated all peddlers in Block A Market will be relocated to a temporary shelter in Sambas Park. At this time, there are 633 peddlers recorded.

"Those peddlers will be relocated soon in the temporary shelter, Sambas Park. Nevertheless, they will back to their old market after the revitalization is done," she told, Thursday (5/14). 

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, the temporary shelter construction is still ongoing. Its roof truss is made of steels. While for the stalls are made of boards. 

Separately, Manager of PD Jaya Market Public Relations, Agus Lamun explained the revitalization of the market has a concept of mix used development. It means not only for trading, but it will be supported by some other facilities such as hotel and integrated with MRT. Its concept used because Kebayoran Baru area is known as trade center. 

"Revitalization development of Block A Market is still in TPS development phase in Sambas Park. It's targeted will complete by the end of this May," he utttered.
