Satpol PP Expels Illegal Participants at Sudirman - Thamrin CFD

Jakarta Satpol PP controls unauthorized participan t activities during Car Free Day (CFD) along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin, Sunday (10/27). As a result, the activities of a beverage producer in the HI Roundabout area during CFD were stopped by officers.

Jakarta Satpol PP's PPNS Section Head, R M Tamo Sijabat said they were disbanded because they were not registered in the CFD activity participant permit. It was also deemed to be very disruptive to the flow of mobility of people who were doing activities around the HI Roundabout.

"The event organizers and other related parties have had their identities checked. They will then be processed according to the provisions," he expressed.

He explained community groups who want to participate or hold events during the implementation of CFD need to submit a notification and registration to the CFD Organizing Working Group chaired by the Transportation Agency in accordance with Gubernatorial Decree No. 509/2016 on CFD Working Team.

According to him, the utilization of CFD activities refers to Bylaw 12/2016 on CFD. Article 7 of the regulation explains that along the CFD route, it can only be utilized for activities themed on the environment, sports, arts, and culture.

Then in paragraph 2 of the same article it is emphasized that CFD may not be used for the interests of political parties and SARA as well as provocative speeches. While in article 9 regulates the requirements for participants who are active in the CFD area.

"We urge the public to understand and continue to follow the provisions for activities in public spaces during the implementation of CFD, such as submitting a notification of self-registration as an activity participant via the website hbkb.jakarta.go.id," he stated.
