Acting Jakarta Governor, Teguh Setyabudi, monitored the Jakarta Provincial Government's readiness in facing rainy season at Pluit Reservoir Pump House, North Jakarta, Monday (11/4).

"Pluit Reservoir Pump House is one of the strategic flood control pump houses in Jakarta. My visit was not only to review the pump house readiness, but also to follow up on the results of the leadership meeting regarding mitigation in facing rainy season and anticipating flood," Teguh said, as quoted from the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.

Teguh also ensured that the number of pumps, human resources, and supporting facilities and infrastructures are adequate to handle flood. It means the inundation can recede quickly.
Acting Governor Teguh will also monitor other pump houses in Jakarta. Jakarta Provincial Government is also ready to provide flood preparation ceremony.
"During the leadership meeting (rapim), we also requested information from Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) about when the rainy season peak in Jakarta. Based on the agency data, it will occur in the mid until the end of February. We also discussed our efforts in early 2025," he added.
"I also requested Jakarta Provincial Government ranks, especially Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Agency (BPBD) to prepare in handling the rainy season impact," he continued.
Teguh also instructed Regional Organizations in Jakarta to run their duty and role in handling flood. Those are Jakarta Water Resource Agency to make sure the water pumps readiness, Environment Agency to handle post-flood waste, then Health Agency, Social Agency, and BPBD Agency to assist residents.
"It includes the post-flood management that involves related agencies. We appeal the resident to also assist us by not throwing trash carelessly to water channel. That is why the education to resident and other stakeholders' support are important," Teguh said.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Regional Secretary's Development and Environment Assistant, Afan Adriansyah Idris, admitted Acting Governor Teguh appealed related Regional Working Units to monitor the readiness and preparedness related to face rainy season, including water pumps at underpass and cleaning waste on water channel.
"We need to make sure that health posts of Health Agency are ready, then Social Agency also ready to prepare public kitchen if needed," he said.
Moreover, Acting Jakarta Water Resource Agency Head, Ika Agustin Ningrum, explained there are 577 stationary pumps spread in 202 locations. There are also 557 mobile pumps spread in five administration areas.
"We have prepared it well for facing rainy season, including for residents. We also expect residents no to litter since the trach will block the water pumps," she explained.
