Acting Governor Teguh Supports Pilkada Implementation with Integrity and Ethics

In the event held by the Indonesian Election Supervisory Honorary Council (DKPP), Teguh said that Jakarta Provincial Government fully supports the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) implementation with integrity and ethics.
"We appreciate today's coordination meeting, especially the DKPP Chairman and his staff who initiated it, to strengthen joint synergy between the ranks of election organizers, security forces, and all stakeholders in facing challenges during the regional head election implementation," Teguh said, as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.

He assessed that realizing direct, general, free, secret, honest, and fair Pilkada is impossible to be created by General Election Commission (KPU) and the General Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu). It needs support from the regional government and the ranks of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), as well as all stakeholders.
"We, Jakarta Provincial Government, have continued to monitor the Pilkada implementation in Jakarta since the program preparation and budget planning stage. So that each stage can be implemented well, and monitoring complaints that occur. There were only eight complaints in Jakarta. Hopefully it stays there," Teguh added.
Teguh stated Jakarta Provincial Government will hold a declaration of neutrality for the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to maintain the conduciveness of Pilkada implementation that has entered the campaign stage and soon enter the voting stage.
"Declaration is held to implement Pilkada properly, ethically, and in integrated manner," he stated.
Meanwhile, DKPP Chairman, Heddy Lugito, hoped regional election complaints can be minimized through this coordination and preparation.
"I am optimistic that there will be no complaints to the DKPP after the Pilkada since the ranks of the KPU and Bawaslu can maintain their ethics and integrity. Only working uprightly on democracy and laws and regulations. Not working for election participants, but working for the people. Because they are the ones who have a big interest in this Pilkada. They really hope for all of us that the leaders they choose are truly in accordance with their wishes. Let us not betray the voice of the people," he said.
Secretary of the Indonesian DKPP, David Yama stated, based on DKPP data in 2024, from January 1 to November 4, there were 584 complaints received. This number is double compared to 2023 which reached 325 complaints. Of that number, 270 are ready to be tried and have been tried. As many as 173 of them have had their cases decided.
Highest complaint is North Sumatera, West Java, East Java, South Sumatera, Papua Pegunungan, Central Papua, South Sulawesi, Aceh, Papua, and Central Java.
"Jakarta is in 26th position with Riau by eight complaints. Data shows that public awareness of regional election process supervision is increasing," he stated.
