Acting Jakarta Regional Secretary's Community Welfare Assistant, Suharini Eliawati, said her side has formed a Violence Prevention and Handling Team (PPK) and a PPK taskforce at city and provincial levels to prevent and handle sexual violence in educational units.
"Firm sanction will be given for perpetrators of sexual violence in educational units. We appeal to the entire community to play an active role in preventing and handling sexual violence," Eli said, Friday (11/15).
Eli added her party would immediately conduct an examination, and provide disciplinary punishment in accordance with applicable provisions for suspected perpetrators of sexual violence in educational units.
"The authorities will follow up of it meets the criminal elements," she added.
Eli continued educational units are also appealed to restore the psychological condition of victims in the form of psychological assistance by professional staff from the Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (DPPAPP) Agency to ensure that victims do not experience psychological trauma.
"Not only psychological recovery, trauma healing will also be given to educators, education personnel, and students in educational units. We are committed to take firm action against perpetrators of sexual violence in educational environments," Eli stated.
