Dispora Sends 19 Health Workers in Pra Popnas 2024

The Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) sent 19 health workers to the Pra Popnas 2024 event in Solo, Central Java.

We also handle the psychological condition of athletes facing important matches

Sports therapist Expert from the Jakarta Student Sports Training Center (POPP), Maulana Andi, said the 19 health workers consisted of one general practitioner, sports specialist, sports psychologist, and nurse.

Then two physios and 19 sports therapists. They have been on duty since the first day of Pra Popnas last Tuesday.

"Besides handling injuries and recovery, we also handle the psychological condition of athletes facing important matches," he expressed, Saturday (11/16).

Until the fifth day, the execution was only carried out on one athlete from the martial arts sport branch who needed extra treatment. Student athlete, Hafiz Fatur suffered an ankle injury while competing in the semifinals.

"Therefore, the health team recommended him not to compete in the final match," he explained.

Despite he did not compete in the final match, he explained, this athlete had already secured a ticket to compete in Popnas 2025.

"So we consider the long term so as not to experience fatal injuries," he stated.
