Jakarta Badminton Team Advances to Pra Popnas 2024 Finals

The Jakarta student team badminton teams successfully advanced to the Pra Popnas 2024 final in Solo, Central Java.

They advanced to the final round after defeating their opponents in the semifinal round, Saturday (11/15) at the Sports Hall (GOR) belongs to the Faculty of Sports (FKOR) of Sebelas Maret State University (UNS), Solo.

Jakarta Badminton Coordinator, Rizal Fadhilah said that in the semifinal match, the women's team managed to beat the Lampung team with a score of 2-0.

In the first match in the Jakarta women's singles match, Syifa Safarina Ilhamsyah faced Aisyah Adha Kusuma Dita. In that match, she won two straight sets without reply.

Next, the second match was between Aulina Cheryl Gloria from Jakarta against Khaliza Azzahra Agustina from Lampung. The duel also took place in two sets for Aulina's victory.

Meanwhile, in the third match, Aisyah Adha Kusuma Dita and Putri Remiya Kirani Tarigan from Lampung were supposed to compete against Ainun Qomariyah and Bunga Ronisya. However, because it no longer affected the results, the third party was not contested.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God) from the three matches, we won two of them. The third match, the women's doubles, was not played because we were already two-nil ahead," he added.

The Jakarta men's student badminton team also won victory over their opponent, a team from Lampung, with the same score of 2-0.

In the inaugural match, Jakarta men's singles Izza Alfaruq Aston Martin managed to beat his opponent Rega Adityia in two sets without reply.

Likewise, in the men's doubles in the second match, Boby Caludio Tampi and Darrel Fawwaz from Jakarta beat the pair Arya Satya and Habib Ikrom Adh Putra from Lampung in straight sets.

Then the third men's singles match between Jakarta's Muhammad Hudzaifah Makarim and Raditia Ramdhani from Lampung was not contested because it did not affect the results.

"In the final match, both will face West Java. Hopefully, the children can perform optimally to win gold," he stressed.
