Four Channels in Sawah Besar Normalized

Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency has recorded that four channels in Karang Anyar and Kartini urban villages, Sawah Besar Sub-district from November to early December 2024.

Sawah Besar Sub-district Executing Unit Head, Yusuf Sumardani explained normalization in four locations is about to follow up on residents' aspirations who complained about the condition of the channels in their settlements.

He explained those channels normalized were on Jalan Karang Anyar Utara 2, RW 10, Karang Anyar Urban Village, along 226 meters. Then was channel on Jalan A Gg 5, RW 04, Karang Anyar Urban Village along 215 meters.

Then channels on Jalan Dwi Warna Gg C, RW 01 Kartini Urban Village along 160 meters, on Jalan Karang Anyar Utara Gg O, RW 09, Karang Urban Village along 156 meters.

"This work is made by remaking a trase and replacing a sheet pile from river stone with U-Ditch concrete," he explained.

Aside that, from November to early December, personnel dredged channels in two locations. Those were on Jalan Kartini XIII, RW 01, Kartini Urban Village and Jalan Gunung Sahari X, RW 04, Gunung Sahari Utara Urban Village.

In such locations, the dredging was carried out up to 150 meters. Hopefully, it could minimize flooding in the area.

"Currently, our officers in the field are still sweeping areas that are prone to flooding. If there are any, dredging will be dredged immediately," he stated.
