Clash in Klender Injures One

A clash occurred again on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai involving Kebon Singkong residents, Klender with Cipinang Jagal residents, Cipinang, East Jakarta, Thursday (5/21).

Such clash which occurred at 1 AM, causing a resident injured after being hit by an arrow. The incident also damaged some houses and the other public facilities. Consequently, it disturbed the operational of commuter line train trip.

Based on the information gathered, the clash broke out at 1-5 AM. Hundreds of residents from 2 areas which are bounded by railway track and Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai attacked each other using catapults, rocks, woods, sharp weapon and arrows. Even the road guardrail on road median and two 1000-watt powered floodlights also broken.

Not only that, the roofs of residents' houses were also broken hit by rocks. Even, Bonar (26), a resident of RT 06/10 Cipinang Urban Village, his eye injured after an arrow made of motorcycle spokes hit him. 

Then the ranks of District Leadership Assembly [Muspika] from Pulogadung and Duren Sawit Sub-Districts then went straight to the field on Thursday morning. However the mass have already disbanded. The officers found the residual of the clash, that was the guardrail which nearly collapsed. 2 broken floodlights. And dozens of marbles that allegedly used for catapults. Then 1 bow and knife. 

Pulogadung Sub-District Head, Ahmad Haryadi stated residents who stay in Cipinang Urban Village, claimed they were attacked by Kebon Singkong residents, Klender, Duren Sawit. They avenged as they were pushed. Ironically, a resident was injured hit by an arrow.

Currently, a resident named Bonar immediately rushed to the Central Jakarta Cipto Mangunusumo Hospital for an intensive treatment. So far, the clash trigger is still unknown. 

"Our resident in Cipinang Jagal just defense themselves as they were attacked by Kebon Singkong residents. One of our residents injured during the clash. We're still investigating the clash trigger and surely there must be a provocateur from the outside," he expressed.

Meanwhile, Duren Sawit Sub-District Head, Abu Bakar promised to tighten the environment supervision in preventing similar incident in future.
