Acting Governor Teguh Launches Four Pedestrian Bridges

Acting Jakarta Governor, Teguh Setyabudi signed the construction and inauguration inscriptions of four pedestrian bridges on Jalan Kh Mas Mansyur, Jalan Raya Pondok Gede, Dewi Sartika and Jalan Danau Sunter Barat, Tuesday (12/10).

Teguh said the four bridges were built with different characteristics by adopting local history and cultural wisdom.

Pedestrian bridge on Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Karet Tengsin Urban Village, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, is adopting rubber (karet) tree design.
"The design resembles latex sap extraction from rubber tree that surround the bridge girders," he added.
Then Dewi Sartika pedestrian bridge on Jalan Raya Condet is inspired from Condet Snakefruit which is a typical Betawi fruit.
"The bridge is the gate to enter Condet area," he continued.
Dukuh pedestrian bridge on Jalan Raya Pondok Gede, RW 01 Dukuh Urban Village, East Jakarta, carries theme of science with adopting dynamic elements and sorting box visualization design. It is identical with learning and to introduce geometric shapes to children.
Moreover, Sunter Muara pedestrian bridge on Jalan Danau Sunter Barat carries urban legend theme. The bridge girder combines two building concepts namely the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and the Gigi Balang Betawi traditional house.
Teguh emphasized that inclusive, comfortable and safe public facilities for the community is Jakarta Provincial Government commitment which is delivered through those four pedestrian bridges.
The four pedestrian bridges are also equipped with facilities such as lift, lighting, and CCTV.
"I appreciate all sides and Jakarta Provincial Government ranks for realizing the four pedestrian bridges. I hope the community will also maintain them well," he stated.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Head, Heru Suwondo explained the four bridges construction spent budget Rp 70 billion. Mas Mansyur pedestrian bridge is completed with videotron on the outer side wall of the elevator.
In detail, he added, the bridges are constructed with 5.5 meter of height, and three meter of width. The length of those bridges are vary. Mas Mansyur pedestrian bridge is 39.6 meters, Dewi Sartika pedestrian bridge is 34.6 meter, Dukuh pedestrian bridge is 25.2 meters, and Sunter Muara pedestrian bridge is 27.3 meters.
"We spent ranging from Rp 13 billion, Rp 15 billion, and Rp 19 billion as the highest budget for Mas Mansyur pedestrian bridge," he stated.
