Commission E Supports Women's Health Interventions

Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Commission E, Farah Savira supports the city administration's efforts through Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) to improve women's health, especially preventing the risk of cervical and breast cancer.

According to her, they had made efforts to intensify socialization to reduce the risk of disease and run an HPV immunization program for female students in grades V and VI of elementary school (SD).

"The Indonesian Cancer Foundation in Jakarta has also provided screening and early detection services for breast and cervical cancer, such as pap smears, breast ultrasounds, and mammography," she expressed, Monday (12/16).

Commission E Appreciates City Government's Action to Help Fire Victims

She ensured that the Health Center or Puskesmas as a facilitator for the detection of various diseases, including breast and cervical cancer, had run its services well.

"We'd checked this health center has opened cancer service, as this disease is one of 14 types of diseases for which the Health Ministry has allocated a budget for checks," she explained.

On the other hand, the city administration must intensify socialization and early detection education for cancer risk prevention in various educational facilities.

"Dinkes can collaborate with foundations or other institutions in providing free health check-up services," she stated.
