The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) is about to dispatch its personnel on standby at various tourist locations and strategic places in a bid to parse traffic jams and smoothen traffic flow during Christmas and New Year holidays.

Jakarta Dishub Head, Syafrin Liputo said the Christmas and New Year holidays were predicted to attract many visitors from outside Jakarta who wanted to have fun in Jakarta as in previous years.
According to him, several recreational sites would be the main focus of traffic regulation, namely Ancol, Ragunan, Kota Tua, Monas, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), and Seribu Islands.

He explained the Dishub personnel together with the army (TNI)/police would also ensure smooth traffic flow and security in strategic places, including places of worship and locations that have the potential to become busy centers.
"We are preparing traffic management and diversion which includes arranging and placing officers in locations that are predicted to experience crowds," he explained.
By doing so, residents are expected to enjoy their holidays and activities during the Christmas period safely and comfortably.
"We also hope that traffic flow in Jakarta can run smoothly and orderly," he hoped.
